Racecadotril IP
Racenil Contains Racecadotril which is enkephalinase inhibitor. By inhibiting the enzyme, it prolongs anti secretory effect of enkephalins & thus induces constipating effect. It reduces intestinal hyper secretion of water & electrolytes; it does not affect transit time.It is licensed for the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea in adults, also complementary symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea in infants (aged over 3 months) & in children together with oral rehydration & the usual support measures, when these measures alone are insufficient to control the clinical condition.
