Cilnidipine
Bloc C contains Cilnidipine which is a Novel 3rd generation dihydropyridine CCB (calcium channel blockers) used as Antihypertensive. Due to its blocking action at N-type and L type calcium channel, Cilnidipine dilates both arterioles and venules, reducing the pressure in the capillary bed. The blockade of N-type Ca2+channels effectively suppresses neurohumoral regulation in the cardiovascular system, including sympathetic nervous system and renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system. Thus, Cilnidipine is expected to be favourable for various types of complications of hypertension. It is suggested that Cilnidipine has an additional clinical benefit in the inhibition of the pressor response induced by acute cold stress. Bloc C is indicated in Treatment of increased blood pressure, Angina, Arrhythmias, Hypertensive emergency, Hypertensive patients with diabetes, chronic kidney disease and in patients developing pedal edema with other CCB. Overall it is a recommended as Cardio protective, Neuroprotective , Renoprotective Drug.
